Steppin' Out Top

Northridge Hospital Foundation's Steppin' Out Gala raises $536,000

Without the loyal and generous backing of our community businesses, corporate executives, philanthropists, supporters, and leaders, Northridge Hospital would not have been able to serve our community for the past 66+ years.  Though all of us have faced the recent challenging times we are proud to have so many wonderful people stand behind our mission and continue to support us time after time.

Saturday, October 29th was a beautiful evening filled with laughter and joy amongst so many delightful supporters. This year we welcomed back old and new friends, with over 415 people in attendance. The weather was perfect and the stars where shining bright on us all.  It was an amazing feeling to be able to bring people together again and celebrate how far we have come since COVID disrupted so many things.

“Steppin’ Out, is our signature event and we pride ourselves in putting on a really significant and enjoyable event for all. This year was very special. We honored our staff and our physicians for their dedication throughout COVID, and we also recognized an amazing physician for her dedication and leadership in our community for over 40 years – Dr. Pamela Davis,” said Brian Hammel, Foundation President.

Raising over $536,000 for the launch our Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) system, Northridge Hospital will now be one of the 5 hospitals in Los Angeles to be able to offer this service. The ECMO machine is extremely important to Northridge Hospital. The ECMO is similar to the heart-lung by-pass machine used in open-heart surgery. It pumps and oxygenates a patient's blood outside the body to give the heart and lungs a rest and time to heal. “This state of the art piece of equipment will help us stand out as a leading hospital and help to save so many lives,” says Cardiologist Jahandar Saleh, MD.

The Northridge Hospital Foundation extends a huge thank you to our amazing donors and supporters who helped us surpass our goal for 2022. We look forward to seeing everyone again in 2023.
